After earning her degree in history and spending her early years teaching, her career took a significant turn between 2015 and 2016 with the publication of *Adele Pergher: Refugee* and her win of the Veneto Region Prize for the essay *Refugees*, works that launched a successful vein of popular history capable of weaving archival research with theatrical writing. National and European recognition came in 2022 thanks to the essay *Tutta un\u2019altra storia. The Great War as Told by Women and Children, presented to the Council of Europe and the Senate of the Republic at Palazzo Madama\u2014a success that led her to collaborate with RAI TRE on a documentary dedicated to the topic and, the following year, to present her research on the program *Quante Storie*. A long-standing key figure within the INDIRE research group, Calgaro has revolutionized the teaching of history in Italy by promoting the use of workshops and digital technologies\u2014as summarized in her authoritative textbook published by Carocci in 2023\u2014as well as by creating national photography exhibitions and curating high-profile multimedia projects. In recent years, with the publication of the novels *Dove sei madre* in 2024 and *Non abbiamo pi\u00f9 paura.
