Leonardo Galligioni
Leonardo Galligioni was born in 1998 into a family of musicians and began studying double bass at the age of 12 under the guidance of Maestro Mauro Muraro. Leonardo is the winner of various competitions and scholarships, including Master Class on the performance of Veneto music at the Accademia de I Solisti Veneti, scholarship at the Royal College of London, Piove di Sacco competition, Accademia Stauffer. He carries out an intense concert activity both as a soloist and in orchestra with ensembles such as I Solisti Veneti, Interpreti Veneziani, I Musici Veneziani, I Virtuosi Italiani, Opera Stravagante, Orchestra da camera Lorenzo Da Ponte, Orpheus, Contrarco, LaFil-Farmonica di Milano, La Fenice, OPV. With these he had the opportunity to play in important concert halls, theaters and festivals such as: Chiesa della Pietà (Venice), Scuola Grande di San Rocco, Teatro La Fenice, Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista, Teatro Pollini (Padua), Nuovo Teatro Giovanni da Udine, Basilica di San Francesco (Assisi), Teatro Dal Verme (Milan), Teatro Mario del Monaco (Treviso), Sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory, Concert Hall of the Verdi Conservatory in Turin, Teatro Puntozero Beccaria in Milan, La Fenic in Venice, Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman.
He has collaborated with artists such as Uto Ughi, John Axelrod, Claudio Scimone, Giuliano Carella, Maurizio Dini Ciacci, Stefan Milenkovich, Giuliano Carmignola, Gabriele Ragghianti, Domenico Nordio, Paolo Tagliamento, Andras Adorjan, Nicola Mazzanti, and Chung Myung-whun.
Leonardo also took part in master classes by Maestros Gabriele Ragghianti, Francesco Siragusa, Wies de Boevé, Dan Styffe, Christine Hoock, Ödön Rácz, and Enrico Fagone.
In the 2019/2020 academic year, he obtained the Level I Academic Diploma at the Conservatorio “B.Marcello” in Venice with a grade of 110 cum laude. In the 2021/2022 academic year, he obtained the Level II Academic Diploma at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Venice with a grade of 110 cum laude. He perfected his studies with Matteo Liuzzi, I contrabass of the Teatro La Fenice, and with Maestro Franco Petracchi at the Stauffer Academy, and in September 2023 he enrolled in the Italian Conservatory of Switzerland in Lugano under Maestro Enrico Fagone.
In January 2024 he won the competition as second double bass at La Fenice. He plays a 1970 Pöllmann four-string double bass.
