Min Won, born in 2008, is one of the most promising young South Korean cellists of his generation. He completed his training at the prestigious Korea Arts Gifted Education Institute, where he was able to develop his musical talent in a highly specialized environment. He is currently enrolled as a gifted student at Korea National University of Arts, one of the country’s leading musical institutions, where he continues his studies under the guidance of renowned faculty members. Min Won has already had the opportunity to perform in prominent settings, including the 20th Regular Concert of the Korea Arts Gifted Education Institute, where he collaborated as a soloist with other selected young musicians.

In 2024 he was featured in the Kumho Gifted Concert, a major event dedicated to young talent, after successfully auditioning for the Kumho Young Artist program. In the same year, he gave a solo recital at the Elim Art Center as part of the festival dedicated to young emerging artists. His path is studded with numerous awards obtained in national and international competitions.

In South Korea, he won first prize at the 31st Seongjeong Competition and the 25th Strad Competition, as well as several second prizes in top-level competitions such as the 41st Busan Music Competition, the 6th Dong-A Junior Competition and the 72nd Ewha Kyunghyang Competition. Internationally, he was awarded second prize at the X. David Popper International Cello Competition and first prize at the AMMC International Cello Competition. In 2024, he was also the recipient of the prestigious Shinhan Music Award (16th edition), an award reserved for young Korean musicians who stand out for their extraordinary artistic potential.
