He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and did his higher music studies in Austria at the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg. He then studied at the Hochschule fur Musik “R.Schumann” in Dusseldorf. He won prizes at the Alpe – Adria International Youth Competition, the Lizen International Cello Competition in Austria, and the Maria Canals International Competition in Barcelona, Spain.
He has participated in numerous concerts and tours, including Salzburg Sommerakademie, Kronberg Cello Festival, internationales Bartok Festival in Hungary, Pacific Music Festial in Japan, Kusatz Music Festival in Japan, Wiener Meisterkurs, and as a soloist he has sunk in Europe and Asia.
He was a member of the Salzburg Kammerphilharmonie and Pro Musica, and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Neuss.
He is first cello soloist of the KBS Symphony Orchestra of the Korean State Radio and Television Symophonieorchester, a member of the Korean Chamber Music Society, the Korean Chamber Music Ensemble and the Korean Soloists Ensemble.
