Yamamoto Maki
Maki Yamamoto was born in Osaka, Japan. She studied with Keiko Inoue at Kobe College.After her studies in Kobe, she continued her education in Freiburg, Stuttgart and Strasbourg. She studied with Zsigmond Szathmáry, Jon Laukvik and Christophe Mantoux.She graduated in 2001 with honors, and performed advanced training with Szathmáry in Freiburg and in 2005 in the prestigious “Solistenklasse” with Jon Laukvik in Stuttgart.He attended master classes with Olivier Latry, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Tierry Escaich and others. In 2005 he won third prize at the First International Organ Competition in Landsberg, Germany.He has given concerts in numerous cities in Japan, Germany, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic. His concerts have been broadcast live on Bavarian Radio Television (Bayerische Rundfunk) and Austrian Radio (ÖRF) in Vienna.Since April 2006, Maki Yamamoto has been the titular organist at the “concert hall of Ryutopia” in Niigata, Japan, where he also devotes himself to the activity of organizing and performing organ recitals, as well as teaching.He has been teaching organ and organ composition at Soai University in Osaka since 2010.
