DENİZ AYŞE BİRDAL

Born in 1996, she began her studies at the Istanbul Conservatory, a city where she resided and studied until 2013, when she enrolled at the University of Augsburg at which she earned her bachelor’s degree with Prof Julius Berger in 2018. Since 2018 he has been attending the master course at the same university under the guidance of Professor Hyun-Jung Berger. Since 2019, he has also been studying with Giovanni Sollima at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has won multiple international prizes, including the first prize at the “Rudolf Matz Strings Competition,” the 2018 prize sponsored by the “IKSV-Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation and Istanbul Music Festival,” as well as the first prize and gold medal at the “Ural-Ekaterinburg Mathematics Competition.” He has been awarded prestigious scholarships, starting from the one sponsored by the German Ministry of Culture to the “Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now” project. He has participated in countless prestigious international festivals, including “Amsterdam Cello Biennale,” “Instanbul Musica Festival,” “Kronberg Academy Festival,” “Menuhin Festival-Gstaad String Academy,” “ISA Music Festival,” “Kaunas Young Musicians Festival,” and “Tignes Music Festival.” Of note was the recording project made in 2020 together with Giovanni Sollima as part of the “Amsterdam Cello Biennale”.
