Filippo Lanteri

Filippo Lanteri earned his degree in oboe from the Verona Conservatory under Diego Dini Ciacci and later from the Zurich University of the Arts under Thomas Indermühle. After working as a musician in various orchestras, he devoted himself exclusively to sound engineering and production. He honed his skills by collaborating with Simon Eadon, a renowned sound engineer at Decca in London, and Chris Hazell, a legendary producer at the Decca record label. He is the owner of Audio Classica, a studio offering recording and audio post-production services specializing in classical and acoustic music in general, with productions for record labels such as: Sony Classical, Deutsche Grammophon, CPO, Naxos, Glossa, Unitel, Brilliant, Challenge, DaVinci, Bongiovanni, Stradivarius, and Tactus. In 2025, he founded his own label, SONUS. In the field of opera, he has produced more than one hundred recordings of operas performed primarily at the Fondazione Arena di Verona, the Rossini Opera Festival, the Sferisterio in Macerata, the Festival della Valle d’Itria, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, producing DVDs, broadcast recordings, and live radio and television broadcasts for RadioRAI, Sky-Classica, Unitel, MediciTV, ArteTV, Metisfilm, and Filmand. In the field of archival work, he has served as the lead sound engineer for the Fondazione Arena di Verona since 2010 and for the Asiagofestival since 2004. In the field of background music, he has recorded music for documentaries, films, and short films at CNSO Studios in Prague and Teatro delle Voci Studios in Treviso (Il Volo, E. Olmi, A. Morricone, P. Donaggio). As early as the late 1990s, Audio Classica began addressing the issue of deterioration in analog audio archives and consequently specialized in digitization projects for institutions such as the Verona Conservatory and for private clients including Riccardo Zara, Marino Detto, and Zecchino d’Oro. Awards: In 2012, the company handled the recording and live television broadcast from the Arena di Verona of the production “Aida 3D,” which won the 3D Awards for Best European Live Entertainment Production of the Year, presented by the International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society. In 2015, the CD “Vivaldi,” recorded for Deutsche Grammophon with mandolinist Avi Avital, tenor Juan Diego Flórez, and the Venice Baroque Orchestra, was awarded the ECHO Klassik. Between 2021 and 2026, six productions received “five stars” from the magazines Musica and Amadeus. In 2020, he served as technical director for the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region’s project titled “From the classification of tonewood—through the development of an innovative methodology based on a metrological approach—to the enhancement and promotion of the PEFC-certified forest from which that wood was sourced.”
