Coenobium Vocale is a male vocal group engaged in concert and research activities in the field of ancient and contemporary music literature. It has established itself in numerous national and international competitions: first prize at the National Polyphonic Competition in Quartiano (1993 and 2013); Grand Prize E. Casagrande at the National Competition in Vittorio Veneto (1993 and 2001); 2nd prize in the Gregorian chant category at the Guido d’Arezzo International Competition (1995); 1st prize in the even-voice category at the Guido d’Arezzo National Competition (1995).
He collaborates with cultural institutions and associations such as the Accademia Olimpica in Vicenza, the Levi Foundation in Venice, the University of Padua, the Associazione Amici della Musica in Vicenza, and the Società del Quartetto. He has participated in festivals, festivals and concert seasons such as the Festival di Musica Antica in Trento, Festival Galuppi, Festival In canto gregoriano in Florence, Asiagofestival, also proposing his own thematic projects and monographic works such as, for example, the Passion of Christ according to John by Francesco Corteccia (1527), Lamentationes Hieremiae prophetae by M. A. Ingegneri and others by contemporary composers. He has collaborated with important names in Italian culture and theater such as Arnoldo Foà, Pamela Villoresi, Sergio Ciulli, Gianfranco De Bosio, Luciano Bertoli and Melania Mazzucco. He has released the discographic collections Musica Dei donum (1996), Lux fulgebit (2002), Pio X – his music (2003), for Tactus Saverio Mercadante, Musica Sacra e Stile operistico (2004), Cantate (2007), and Spatium (2012). The group also appears in chamber ensembles, for monodic and Renaissance repertoires and, more recently, in mixed ensembles.
