Francesca Michelis was born in Cuneo in 1997 and had her first approaches to the violin at the age of 11 under the guidance of Alberto and Bruno Pignata, the latter violinist of the famous Paganini Quartet. Francesca takes first place at the following music competitions : “Il Conte Verde” in Rivoli (To), “Accordarsi è possibile” in Trento and at the National Review of the city of St. Vincent. He also wins, numerous prizes both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles at the national competitions “Alpi Marittime” in Busca (CN), “Virginia Centurione” in Genoa and the international competition “Riviera dei Fiori” in Sanremo. In 2014 she participated in the workshop with the Tel-Aviv National Youth Orchestra conducted by maestro Bar Avni. In 2015 she was a guest at the Jazz music festival “Granite Town” in Moruya, Australia, she
played with the Canberra Youth Orchestra and in 2016 with the Piedmont Philharmonic under the direction of
maestro Paul Emmanuel Thomas.
As part of the project “Simultaneo Ensemble 2017” she plays in octet with young Kazakh talents performing in different venues of the conservatories of Veneto. He recently won the Peggy Finzi scholarship dedicated to the best violinists at the conservatory. Currently, his musical training is with maestro Stefano Zanchetta at the “Benedetto Marcello” conservatory in Venice.
