Monica Cattarossi was born in Treviso and after completing her musical studies in her hometown, graduating at a very young age from the Conservatorio “B. Marcello” in Venice, she continued her piano studies with Mº Jacques Rouvier, Mº Konstantin Bogino and Mº Andrea Lucchesini.
She is a winner of numerous national, international and chamber music piano competitions. As a soloist, she has played with the Treviso Youth Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Verona, Genoa, the Bulgarian Youth Orchestra, the Chioggia Festival Orchestra, and the “G. Verdi” Orchestra of Milan.
She has been invited to numerous Festivals, including RadioFrance-Montpellier, Kuhmo, St. Riquier, City of Nations, Festival Pontino, Asiago Festival, Gubbio Festival, Portogruaro, Modica and for important concert associations in Italy such as Società dei Concerti of Milan, Amici della Musica of Florence, Unione Musicale of Turin.
She played in Stravinsky’s “Marriage” conducted by Romano Gandolfi and Poulenc’s concerto for two pianos and orchestra conducted by Giuseppe Grazioli with the “G. Verdi” Orchestra of Milan. She is included in the artist list of the Musical Youth of Italy. For the past few years she has been specializing in chamber repertoire playing with different ensembles and prestigious partners such as Rocco Filippini, Thomas Friedli, Mariana Sirbu, Dora Schwarzberg among others. In a duo with cellist Umberto Clerici he has played at Carnegie Hall in New York. She recently played at the Kuhmo Arts Hall in Seoul and toured Albania with Trio Novalis.
She is an official accompanist of the International Violin Competition “R. Romanini” in Brescia, “A. Curci” in Naples, “Rassegna Amati” in Cremona, the International Cello Competition in Markneukirchen, was awarded the diploma as the best accompanist pianist of the International Competition “A. Janigro” and Markneukirchen, and her collaboration is requested by the Academies of Higher Education in Brescia, Cremona, Pinerolo and for the summer courses of the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
She has recorded for RAI and Radio France.
