Alberto Barbetta
He graduated with highest honors in Organ and Organ Composition from the Vicenza Conservatory, under the guidance of Roberto Antonello, and subsequently earned, again with highest honors, a diploma in Harpsichord under Patrizia Marisaldi. He also earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Musicology from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and received, with honors and special mention, a master’s degree in Organ under Matteo Venturini. His interest in the organ repertoire led him to pursue advanced studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory, where he earned a specialization diploma in Organ under the guidance of Christophe Mantoux and Aude Heurtematte, while also participating in numerous master classes led by internationally renowned teachers. A winner of prizes and awards in national and international organ competitions, he maintains a busy concert schedule as a soloist in Italy and throughout Europe, also performing in collaboration with choral and instrumental ensembles. In the publishing field, he has edited, for the Padua-based publisher Armelin Musica, several collections of organ music dedicated to the Vicenza-based composers Gellio Benvenuto Coronaro, Domenico Cimoso, and Francesco Canneti; more recently, he published an edition of Vincenzo Ferroni’s organ works for the Giuseppe Serassi Association. He has recorded a CD dedicated to the organ music of Pierangelo Valtinoni and a CD containing the complete organ works of Vincenzo Ferroni and Ernesto Berio for the Da Vinci Classics label. He currently teaches organ performance and Gregorian chant at the Adria Conservatory and serves as the resident organist at the Church of Santo Stefano in Vicenza. In 2025, he received first prize at the 4th “Fiorella Benetti Brazzale-Città di Vicenza” International Organ Competition.
