Julien Chappot
Julien Chappot, born in 1979 in Besançon, France, studied in France with Jean-Luc Loewenguth and Michel Strauss. He continued his training in Mainz, Augsburg and Munich with Julius Berger, Patrick Demenga and Michael Hell. From 2001 to 2003 he was a member of the Academy of the Münchner Philharmoniker Orchestra and participated in productions with conductors such as James Levine, Christian Thielemann, Zubin Mehta and Günther Wand.
Julien Chappot has attended master classes with Maud Tortelier, Siegfried Palm, Philippe Muller, Gary Hoffman, Eberhard Feltz and the Orpheus Quartet. He has collaborated with composers such as Wilhelm Killmayer and Krysztof Penderecki. He is a member of the Seraphin Klaviertrio and a regular first guest cellist with the Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie. He also teaches at the Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum of the University of Augsburg/Augsburg.
Since April 2004, he has been principal cellist of the Augsburger Philharmoniker.
