Dylan Lee
Dylan Lee has been praised for his poetic and engaging performances. He completed his undergraduate undergraduate studies (master’s) with Professor Julius Berger at the Leopold Mozart Zentrum in Augsburg and his graduate studies (bachelor’s) at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, where he studied on a full scholarship with Ng Pei-Sian. Before returning to Kuala Lumpur, he lived in Basel, Switzerland, where he attended the School of Excellence postgraduate program at Musik-Akademie Basel under Danjulo Ishizaka. Dylan currently performs regularly in the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas as a member of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO). Recently, Dylan performed as soloist with them in Tan Dun’s Crouching Tiger Concert. Previously, Dylan performed Schumann’s Cello Concerto with the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan as the first prize winner of the Global Music Partnership Concerto Competition. He also won first prize in the 2019 Andreas Stein International Competition.
Among previous highlights, Dylan collaborated with Christian Altenburger in a Meißterkonzert at the Mozarteum Summer Academy. He was a founding member of the KL String Project, a chamber orchestra based at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas.
In the world of contemporary music, Dylan has premiered chamber works by young composers from the Asia-Pacific region, performing in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong as a founding member of the contemporary music quintet Ensemble GO.
