Lorenzo Signorini was born in Thiene (VI) in 1952. He completed his musical studies at the conservatory ” B. Marcello ” in Venice, graduating in organ and organ composition and in prepolyphony.
Teacher of organ and organ composition since 1978, he is currently full professor at the conservatory ” A. Pedrollo ” in Vicenza. He combines his teaching activities with concert performance and composition; he has written compositions for choir, organ, piano, flute, orchestra, opera, oratorio and various music for chamber ensembles and transcriptions.
He published in 2002 with the publisher “Armellin Musica” of Padua “Sinfonia Alberti” for organ; the piece, in an orchestral version, was commissioned by the “L.B.Alberti” institute of Abano Terme and was performed in 2000 by the orchestra of the “A.Pedrollo” conservatory in various concerts. In September 2003 a CD was released on the “Rainbow Classics” label entirely dedicated to his solo, choral and orchestral compositions. In January 2004 the publisher Bèrben published his “Sedona Suite” for piano.
For several years he taught free improvisation courses for instrumentalists at the Conservatory of Vicenza and since 2005 he has been the holder of the organ improvisation course for the Master of Organ for the Liturgy.
He has given courses and lectures for the Rezzara Institute of Vicenza and for the Rotary Club of Valdagno.
All of his production was catalogued and analyzed in the dissertation ” A Century of Musical Life in Thiene” by Dr. Eleonora Dal Santo, at the University of Verona in September 2003.
