Gabriele Tai, born in Milan in 1995, began his cello studies at age 8 under the guidance of M° Daniele Beltrami. In 2002 he was admitted to the conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan in 2003 he began performing in various events including the music festival “Concertiamo” at Palazzina Liberty for two consecutive editions, “Giovani talenti in concerto” and “Casa delle note”. Since 2004 he has participated in several international music competitions such as the “Giovanni Pavese” in Viguzzolo, “Città di Meda”, “Città di Cortemila”, “Città di Giussano” and the “Carlo Mosso” competition in Alessandria always winning first prize. As a result of winning this competition, Gabriele receives a medal of recognition from the City of Naviglio. In 2008 he received a special mention of merit at the “2007 National Arts Award” in the section for young talents .After a brief interruption of musical studies, in 2013 he resumed studying cello with Giacomo Grava at the “G. Puccini” institute in Gallarate. He performs with the youth orchestra “Igor Pizzetti” in Sala Nervi in Rome and participates in the project “Notes in flight” playing in a series of concerts at Malpensa airport participating in the installation of a holographic theater inside.
Gabriele Tai is attending the third year of the three-year academic program at the Venice Conservatory in Angelo Zanin’s class. In April 2017, cellist Mario Brunello presented Gabriele with “Theo,” a Loeiz Honoré loaned to him by the family of Teodora Campagnaro.
